We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Router and Laser Operator to join our company’s production team. The Router and Laser Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining our laser cutting machine and router cutting machine to produce high-quality signage products. The ideal candidate should have experience in operating CNC machinery and demonstrate excellent attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machine and router cutting machine according to work orders and specifications.
- Program machine settings, including speed, depth, and feed rates, to ensure accurate and precise cuts and engravings.
- Monitor machine operations to detect and resolve any issues or malfunctions that may affect product quality or machine performance.
- Perform regular quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet design specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate with the design team to understand project requirements.
- Optimize material usage and minimize waste by efficiently nesting designs within available materials, this would include laying out how each job would be cut on a sheet using a computer package e.g. Corel draw or illustrator.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Keep accurate records of production activities, including materials used, machine maintenance, and job completion times.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or training in CNC machining is a plus.
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery, specifically laser cutting machines and router cutting machines.
- Able to understand and execute design specifications.
- Ability to program and set up CNC machines using appropriate software.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Basic troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve machine issues.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet production deadlines.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
